On April 29th from 6 to 8 PM, SHAPE (Sexual Harassment and Assault Prevention and Education) will host Voices of Courage at the WSEC Chelsea Senior Center. This impactful event is designed to bring students, families, and community members together for an important conversation about safety, support, and prevention.
The evening will feature a presentation from SafeHouse Center, an organization dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual and domestic violence. Attendees will also hear from a panel that includes representatives from SafeHouse, the Chelsea Police Department, and the city’s social worker. Together, these voices will provide valuable insight into resources available in our community, how to recognize and respond to harmful situations, and how we can all play a role in prevention.
Voices of Courage is more than just an informational event; it’s an opportunity to build understanding and connection. Students will gain knowledge about consent, boundaries, and how to seek help. Families will learn how to have meaningful conversations and support their children. Community members will leave better equipped to foster a safer, more informed environment for everyone.
Free food and t-shirts will be available, making this not only an educational experience but also a welcoming and engaging one.
By coming together for Voices of Courage, we take an important step toward creating a community rooted in respect, awareness, and support. Everyone is encouraged to attend and be part of this meaningful conversation.
