In a game against Pioneer, the Chelsea Boys Hockey team walked away with a strong victory. Winning 8-0, the Bulldogs mercied their opposition, leaving the team and the fans excited for the next game. 

Including their list of impressive wins, the Chelsea Hockey team is successful in many ways, many to do with the team’s cooperation and skill.

“We’re doing good and we’re gelling together as a team well,” junior Shane McLaughlin said. 

A main contribution to how well the team has played is their ability to work together. Throughout the season, the team has worked on becoming closer, as having a better bond between teammates helps them play well together on the ice. 

“When we went to Gaylord for a tournament, we did a lot of team bonding exercises to make the team come closer together,” McLaughlin said. 

To help this strong bond, the team takes time to work on bonding exercises, valuing more than just skills in the rink. In doing so, the team has better chemistry that helps them play together more efficiently.

After the game against Pioneer, the team looked back on how they played. Team members Tristan Cooper (‘24) and Luke Webster (‘25) believe that because “everybody executed their role [well]” they were able to dominate the game.

Because everyone played their part and contributed during the game, the team was able to walk away with the victory they did. Both the players and coaches feel that the team is very successful and will continue to stay that way in the future. 

“I think the team is doing well and will keep progressing,” Cooper said.
