Watching basketball isn’t for everybody, but what are you doing if you’re not watching the Detroit Pistons? Hop on the bandwagon right now and go watch the Pistons. These guys have been one of the worst teams in the NBA for years and now they are juiced. Cade Cunningham and the rest of the boys are making a huge playoff push and the future is bright.
I haven’t seen a player play at such an all-star caliber my whole life until now. This Cade Cunningham guy is one of a kind. He makes you feel like you’re watching the 80s-90s Isiah Thomas play again. I mean he’s putting the team on his back as he’s dropping 3’s nonstop on opponents, and driving to the hoop on players who are a foot taller than them. If the team’s down by three with 3 seconds left, you know who the ball is going to, with the clutchness of Cade you know he’s going to make the final basket. He is one of the most dominant players in the league and is going to lead the Pistons to their playoff appearance.
You can’t put it all on the players though for this success. The head coach J.B. Bickerstaff is the real deal, this guy is all about grit, and he makes you feel like why not us, why not the Detroit Pistons? This guy has been able to work with such a young roster and put a team together, he’s able to put these young guys into tough situations and watch them push through the situations and see them succeed. He’s been a motivator, if I were on this team I would want to play for him too, he makes the team feel tough and can stand up for the guys by challenging calls and getting in the ref’s face.
Confidence doesn’t come for these young guys right when they get into the league, they need veterans around them to motivate them and to learn from them. This team isn’t a team without Tobias Harris, Malik Beasley, and Tim Hardaway Jr. Tobias is the guy you want to lead this team, he’s been around the league, through the ups and downs of teams, but he’s back here again and is a key and clutch player for this team. Tim and Malik make you feel like they’re in a three-point contest, they are always banging threes. The grit on these two guys is unbelievable, they never give up and if the team needs a bucket you can stand there and watch as the opponent or you can attempt to stop them but just know it’s not gonna be good for you.
You may be thinking how can this team be winning with such a young team, well if you watched you would know but I guess I’ll just tell you how. The way this team keeps winning is because these young players on the team are all finding roles. With Duran being an absolute monster out there at the rim, catching oops and slamming on people’s heads, he’s become a fun young sensation to watch. With other key pieces like Ausar Thompson or should I call him the Defensive King, he’s played such a key role seeing him be able to stop anyone on offense with his high skills on defense. Finally, we got Ron Holland, this key is the whole package. Being just 19 years old he’s able to be out there looking like he’s a veteran. You need points, this is the guy, you need some key defensive stops you know who to call.
See these Pistons are no joke this year. So what are you waiting for, stop reading this and go watch these boys destroy their opponents and let them give you chills, and make you think you’re watching some 2000’s Pistons. Go DETROIT.
