Zach Bryan is a popular country music artist who has been creating music since 2015 when he was just 19 years old. Bryan has been nominated for many prestigious music awards and won Best New Male Artist of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2023. Then in 2024, Bryan won the Best Country Duo/Group Performance along with Kacey Musgraves for the song “I Remember Everything”. Word quickly spread online and around CHS when Bryan announced his upcoming concert schedule on February 12, 2025: His local concert would be on September 27, 2025, taking place in Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This will be the first non-sport function to showcase musical talent in the largest stadium in the United States, not to mention the third largest in the world.
“I heard about the concert as soon as it was announced,” freshman and avid Michigan fan Austin Maher said.
Many students at CHS who are huge fans of Bryan’s music immediately became excited to purchase tickets. Tickets went on sale for this event on February 14th at 10am.
“He sold out in roughly three or four hours which is huge for both his career, and the stadium,” Maher said
Due to the enormous size of the stadium, people often refer to it as The Big House. The stadium was officially opened in 1927, originally seating 84,401. The stadium has been renovated over the years and today seats up to 107,601 people. However, the concert will have over 112,000 people attending due to floor seats being added.
“Because the concert is happening in Michigan Stadium, all of the athletic staff, like my dad, got access to the tickets a day early,” Maher said.
This concert will be a significant event for the athletic department because this will be the first time they will see a bigger event take place at their arena other than a football game. It will also be important to Michigan fans and music fans of all kinds.
“With how fast everything sold out, I would think more artists will start performing at Michigan Stadium,” Maher said.
It has taken nearly 100 years for a concert to be hosted at this stadium and it is fitting that it may become the largest concert in US history.
“I think it’s pretty cool because I’ve been a Michigan fan all my life, and I’ve been going past that Stadium for as long as I can remember,” Maher said.
