Junior Izzy D’Alecy is this year’s varsity goalie for Chelsea High School, she is putting her time and effort into practicing for this upcoming season. With her sights set on leading her team, she shows her productivity in how she’s staying motivated for the spring.
“I work on more technical things, and I feel like I’m in better shape now, that the training gets more rigorous,” D’Alecy said. “I go to the gym, I go to school, I go to my first practice, and then I go to my second practice, and then weekends, I have my private practices”
With tons of practicing every day it helps Izzy to gain more confidence, she’s able to communicate well with the rest of the team and encourages them to improve.
“I value the 1v1s,” D’Alecy said. “I always encourage my teammates. Let them know that they’re doing good. Be constructive criticism, not just criticism.”
The teams put in their time to practice pre-season to prepare. For Izzy, she’s the team’s last defense and keeps working to ensure nothing will get past her.
“Just seeing my hard work pay off keeps me motivated, and I always want to get better,” D’Alecy said.
