While players are a very important part, the majority of the game is in your head and the spectators are just as important. Tom Lewis has been a very important asset to sports of all sorts some teams haven’t noticed but some have, including freshman volleyball. Many players have noticed that he has been a constant supporter. How do the players feel about his very important support throughout this and past seasons?
“It makes me feel happy and excited because I think that it’s just someone from the community coming to support the Chelsea volleyball program,” freshman Macaela Webber said.
Having people there to constantly watch you play is a very special experience. Being able to say that you enjoy having people there is also a very important thing. It’s really important to have people like this with positive energy and attitudes at the volleyball games to support the players.
“It makes me feel good to have him there because I know that he cares about us and he likes to watch us play,” freshman Lilly Nielsen said.
Support is a really important thing. It makes players happy and helps them play better. Support not only makes players feel good but it gives them another reason to play their best and put in 100 percent effort.
“Tom being there makes me feel so supported. When he’s there it gives me another reason to play my hardest. It also gives me the motivation to be better and try my hardest to win the game” freshman Audrey McCarley said.
Players see their families at all of their games and at their houses all of the time. When there is a spectator who is not a parent or related to any players on any team, it really means a lot to see them show up.
“I think Tom has positively shown up for our team and the other Chelsea teams like the JV and varsity, because it means a lot when he consistently shows up,” Webber said. “It always makes a difference. I know that everyone on our team is always so happy when he walks in the door.”
