As the highly anticipated college tour visits at CHS begin, 25 different colleges begin to the school through September and October, and students begin to express the pros and cons of these visits and the information surrounding them.
“They’re really helpful,” senior Alex Bennett said. “Just to be able to see a campus and school you’re interested in, and kind of see what the area around it’s like, and if it’s somewhere you actually want to apply to.”
These meetings can be super helpful and beneficial to students, but there seem to be some things that have gotten lost in translation between the people who know about them, and those who don’t.
“I think a few people know about them, but it’d definitely be helpful if there was more information,” Bennett said. “I’m not really sure what the meetings are, like if they had stuff about when they are that’d help a lot.”
Students agree that these meetings are important, but they raise questions about the timing of the meeting in comparison to other responsibilities.
“It’s not my number one priority at the moment, but it’ll be more important to me next year,” junior Gabi Rudolph said. “I’ll make sure to sign up next year because I think it’ll be beneficial to me.
All students have different goals and beliefs, but the students who believe that college is an important step to their future careers find these meetings important to their success.
“Obviously I want to become successful when I’m older,” Rudolph said. “I think these meetings are important to help find a college and become successful.”
