Every year, new freshmen come in looking forward to participating in student sections during sports games. But it was not as fun as they expected.
“I wish I got more colors,” freshman Maddie Schultz said, “and I wish they were more vibrant. I had a lot of gray on me at the end.”
As time went on at Color Blast upperclassmen kept most of the leftover color packets for themselves but some students didn’t get any when they wished they did.
“I wish I had saved, like, another color packet for the student section, because at the end I didn’t really have any color left” freshman Eden Bourland said.
Lots of the freshmen said that they didn’t get much color. Because the upperclassmen took most of the powder. As the color blast ended everyone moved on and into the student section. It can get chaotic and confusing sometimes.
Freshman Claire Vaquera said, “The upper-classmen would say freshmen get hype, and then we’d all scream. Or when they would tell us to move back five rows, and then we end up not having to move at all.”
But as the night went on, they enjoyed color blast and had fun getting to meet new upperclassmen and be more included in school events.
“Everybody’s more interactive with each other. Everybody got more involved and everybody wanted to be there.”
