As the new football season begins, the freshman football team continues to build on their recent success. The pressure of maintaining an undefeated record for a third straight year continues to grow and grow.
“Our coaches really help us to not feel the pressure, making the pressure almost nonexistent.” Freshman Nolan Sciackitano said.
The players shift their focus away from the by focusing on the little things and the things they can control
“Being locked in and taking it one play at a time makes the pressure disappear” Scaickitano said
Other players have attributed their success not just to their coaches but the effort with which they practice.
“Focus is key,” freshman Avrion Barnes said. “Effort is also very important knowing the skills we learned in practice will overall translate into the game.”
With trust in their preparation, winning has become a standard for the team. A standard that has led to years of success. Even if they were to lose, the team hopes to bounce back and perform better than they did before.
“Winning takes a lot of hard work and dedication from each and every player, showing up every day to practice, and putting in work every play [is something that] has led us to be in our position right now,” freshman Nolan Scickitano said
