JV soccer coach Remy Tazifor has resigned from his position as coach for the JV soccer team at CHS. During a training session last week, the team was informed that Tazifor would no longer be coaching them. Giorgi Nozadze, who coaches the varsity girls’ soccer team has stepped in to fill the role.
“I was really confused because he just got here, and then three weeks after he first arrived, he just quit,” Lucas Milne(‘26) said.
One of Milne’s teammates Victor Gutierrez De Pineres(‘26) sympathizes with Tazifor’s motivations for his decision to leave his position.
“He lives very far away, and was in the process of moving down here, but could not get his previous house sold, ”Pineres said. “It’s just too far of a commute for him.”
Pineres also thinks that although the shift has been hectic for a lot of the newer players, the team will benefit from the coaching change.
“I know a lot of the other players on JV had previous experience with Giorgi, so they were glad to see and have someone familiar step in to fill his place,” Pineres said.
Milne, who has been with the team for two consecutive seasons, corroborates Pineres’ positive insights.
“I think [Nozadze] has the potential to be a great head coach,” Milne said. “I think he’s a great leader, and he says what’s on his mind, instead of sugarcoating things.”
