As the Boy’s Baseball team prepares for their spring break trip, they are all set to get back into routine and get ready for their upcoming season. Although their trip to Florida may be exhausting, it ultimately strengthens their relationships and work together.
“When we go down to Florida it can be super mentally and physically draining but this makes us really close because we’re all going through the same thing,” junior Oliver Kuboushek, said. “We create a bond and become a big family for a whole week.”
To prepare for their spring break trip, the boys are conditioning regularly and attending hitting and throwing practices.
“We do quite a bit of conditioning, we have hitting practice every day and we do infield work and throwing,” junior Nate Christian said. “I think just having that constant routine gets us prepared for Florida and even our regular season.”
Those constant routines will pay off and get the team wanting more. As they become eager to play and win as many games as they can.
“We have a lot of talent and we work very hard,” Kuboushek said. “This year’s team has more grit than last year’s team did. We’re more of a team and we want more, which I think will get us pretty far this season.”
Teamwork is a very important trait, and they have more of that this year. Senior Mason Meads is adamant about going far this season and maintaining their hard work.
“We’re pretty confident,” Meads said. “I think we can go pretty far, definitely making it to states. It’s going to take hard work, but at the end of the day, that’s always going to be the main goal.”
Senior Max Herter is not only focused on winning games but also on having fun and growing as a team.
“We have a lot of returning guys who have been in the fire and know what’s going on,” Herter said. “We all get along very well and enjoy being around each other and just have fun together.”
