Long before her track and field season begins, senior Elsa Baize, is fully committed to staying healthy and being consistent with her body and eating habits. She continues going to running workouts and indoor winter meets.
“We have these running workouts from the fall into the winter so I’ve been going to those which are helping me stay in shape as well as the winter indoor meets,” Baize said.
As Baize continues to stay active, her eating habits have benefitted her more than you think in her events. Giving her more energy to achieve her goals.
“I usually buy Jimmy John’s before every meet and it made me PR over half the time,” Baize said. “I eat 30 minutes to an hour before I run and eat high protein foods, and some carbs just to give me energy.”
Maintaining her active lifestyle, Baize is consistent with her workouts and relies on her positive attitude.
“Pain is only temporary,” Baize said. “When practice or meets get tougher sometimes, I just have to push through it and remember that.”
Baize is dedicated to her team and is ready to strive in her last track and field season.
“I love my team and I want to be ready when the season comes,” Baize said.
