Gypsy Rose Blanchard, a surviving victim of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, is gaining all the fame after years in jail for her partnership with her boyfriend to murder her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. Is the fame she is getting all over the internet deserved?
Dee Dee convinced Gypsy that she had leukemia, muscular dystrophy, epilepsy, asthma, and poor vision as long as she was wheelchair-bound. Her mother, Dee Dee, had a mental disease called Munchausen syndrome by proxy, which is a form of child abuse that consists of making up or self-diagnosing their child for money, sympathy, and attention. When Gypsy would go to the doctor, her mother, Dee Dee, would make up lies to convince the doctor that the last hospital had lost her medical records.
Shortly after Gypsy was released from prison, she started gaining an “influencer” type of status, and she started gaining undeserved praise. Yes, she is free from prison, but she helped plot the murder of her mother. She is a criminal who was involved in the murder of her mother.
Did she deserve what Dee Dee did to her? No, not at all, not one bit. But she also could have run away with her boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, instead of convincing him to come into their home and stab Dee Dee, leaving her dead in her bedroom.
Overall, I do believe that Blanchard does not deserve the fame she is getting for what she has done to her mother, plus she has also been in jail and is a two-faced person.
