As the fall sideline season shifts to competitive cheer season, the Chelsea Cheer team has stepped out of the limelight and onto the mat taking center stage. As their dynamic has changed drastically, they continue to strive in competition and focus on their collaboration.
“It is definitely a big contrast going from cheering for other people to being solely focused on yourself,” senior Lydia Matusko said.
As practices begin to be longer and harder, this doesn’t stop the team from doing their best and being one big family.
“For comp we have more practices, around six days a week while for sideline it is three to four days a week,” Madison Braun said. “Having all of that time together we become very connected and become one family.”
The Chelsea Girls Cheer team perseveres in striving and uniting together despite the challenges of balancing competitive cheer and sideline.
“We all bounce off each other,” Matusko said. “We have fun and have good conversations, I know I can very much be myself around them and I’m always happy to talk to them.”
