As Leila Wells, senior, heads into her last year at CHS, her freshman sister, Aleeah Wells, joins her in the fun of this year’s varsity basketball season. This dynamic duo has started their journey and can’t wait to see what this season holds for them. One of the best parts of playing together is that they continue to work together and make the best of it.
“We have a pretty good relationship in general,” Aleeah said. “It’s fun and we know each other better than anybody.”
On both ends, Leila and Aleeah find positive outcomes in being on the same team. It is easy for them to go off of each other and help each other out.
“We’re going through the same things with ups and downs and like helping each other out in that way,” Leila said. “We normally have a pretty good dynamic now but I think it’s a little bit more fun just because we could talk about the same things.”
Although their dynamic is thriving sometimes on the other side, things can get lonely.
“I have to learn all the plays that they already knew, which is also really difficult,” Aleeah said. “Sometimes it’s lonely.”
As it is difficult to be the youngest on the team, Aleeah looks up to her older sister, Leila, as they share these special moments together.
“It’s definitely special,” Aleeah said. “It’s like I’ve accomplished something.”
