Thompson’s Pizza’s iconic 30-inch stuffed crust 3-topping pizza in under 30 minutes. CHS teacher Jacob Rumler and two of his childhood friends decide to take on the challenge.
Bring yourself and two other friends to Thompsons during October and try to out monster this 30-inch stuffed crust pizza, which is equivalent to three of our extra-large pizzas plus the stuffed crust with 30 ounces of sauce and 24 ounces of cheese plus bowls full of toppings on your pizza. Rumler decided to try and beat this challenge with three of his own toppings.
“The toppings we decided to get were bacon, green peppers, and onions,” Rumler said.
The challenge began as their eyes widened as the waitress brought out their monster of a pizza while dying of laughter with his childhood friends.
“During the challenge, we couldn’t stop laughing at each other because of how comically huge the pizza really was when we first saw it,” Rumler said.
There were 39 groups of three that tried to become the Pizza Monster this fall, and only one group has won. Unfortunately, Rumler’s group took the challenge, but the pizza challenged them. They had 3 out of the 16 monstrous slices left. While they were not able to conquer the challenge, they had a blast while doing it.
“I would say it was totally worth it, even though we did not win. We still had fun trying the challenge while enjoying tasty pizza,” Rumler said.
If you and your two friends are wanting to take on this challenge, you will have to wait until next October to take on this monster of a pizza. If you do decide to go out, this pizza Rumler has some advice for you.
“If I were to do it again, I would drink more water the night before to help expand my stomach, and at Thompsons, I will get pop instead of water, so I burp more because, trust me, that helped a lot,” Rumler said.
