Famous pop singer Harry Styles, known for being a member of the boy band One Direction, plays a huge role in the movie My Policeman, released on Friday, October 21.

Styles’ acting career debuted in 2017 when he played the small role of Alex in the war film Dunkirk. The film illustrates the Dunkirk evacuation of World War II through the different perspectives of the various characters.

Dunkirk was Styles’ first serious performance on film. Although he played a small role, Styles was able to channel raw anger and passion into his performance.

After his official debut in the film industry, Styles waited a total of four years to make a comeback in the post-credit scenes of the Marvel film, Eternals as Thanos’ brother Eros.

Although Styles was only in the movie very briefly, the fact that he was there means he is now officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so fans should be expecting more movies from him in the future.

Soon after his role in Eternals, Styles played his first major role in the psychological thriller, Don’t Worry Darling, as Jack Chambers.

For fans like CHS sophomore Kate Glendening, who is a major admirer of Styles’ music and saw Don’t Worry Darling as soon as it came out in theaters, Styles’ acting career is a fascinating offshoot of his music.

“I was very excited to hear that he was going to be in a film,” Glendening said. “It was thrilling to see what he would accomplish with acting, especially since I love him as a musician.”

In his most recent project, Styles will be playing the role of police officer Tom Burgess in the film My Policeman.

“I’m excited to see such a different role from him,” Glendening said. “I’m interested in seeing him play a part in a tragic romance, and I’m prepared to take on all of the emotions. I’m expecting a good performance seeing as he appears to be incredibly passionate and excited for his fans to see it.”
