Chelsea Girls Volleyball Puts Up a Fight Against Adrian
The Chelsea Girls Volleyball team took a tough loss to Adrian in an SEC matchup this past Thursday, October 6. It was a combination of senior night and Mental Health Awareness night, which drew a big crowd to cheer on the Bulldogs.
Throughout the game, the Bulldogs continued to fight and kept their energy up. However, as the match went on, it became a dogfight. With two sharp kills from young player Maggie Mckale (‘25) in the second set and some strong hits from Jenna Ouellette (‘24), the Bulldogs were able to trail close behind Adrian for the majority of the game. The Bulldogs continued to rally but came up short after three sets letting the Maples win the game 3-0.
Despite their ultimate defeat, seniors like Kayla Munson (‘22) and Caitlyn White (‘22) stepped up as captains and assisted the Bulldogs in this game and consistent players like Ouelette contributed a lot to the game overall.
Heading into the end of the season and the beginning of playoffs, the team is confident that they will overcome this loss and be victorious throughout the second half of the season.
Chelsea’s record stands at 2-2. Next, the Bulldogs will take on Tecumseh. It will be a tough match for the Bulldogs, but if the team continues to have good leadership and determination, they will be able to pull around this loss.
“I think it will be easy to bounce back from this,” Ouelette said. “We know what we need to fix as a team and we will continue to work hard.”
