Album Review: Red (Taylor’s Version)
Taylor Swift is a pop music icon. Even if you aren’t a fan, you know who she is. Beginning her career in the music industry when she was only sixteen, Swift has dominated the industry ever since.
Swift has recently begun re-recording some of her albums that she does not own. Swift chose to do this so that she, not the label she was previously associated with, owns the songs she wrote that mean so much to her.
After releasing Fearless (Taylor’s Version) in April of 2021, Swift recently released Red (Taylor’s Version). The second album that she has re-recorded, Red (Taylor’s Version) includes some of Swift’s most popular songs off of the original album. These include: “I Knew You Were Trouble (Taylor’s Version),” “Red (Taylor’s Version),” “22 (Taylor’s Version),” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (Taylor’s Version),” and the all-new ten-minute version of “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version).”
Along with the ten-minute version of “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version),” Swift also released the “All Too Well The Short Film”. This short film starred Sadie Sink, a well-known actress from Netflix’s Stranger Things, and Dylan O’Brian, who is well-known for The Maze Runner movie series.
Swift’s re-recorded albums also include collaborations with other artists. Collaboration with artists such as Ed Sheeran, Chris Stapelton, and Phoebe Bridgers has added new style elements to her re-envisioned works and made them all the more popular.
Overall, this album was another win for Taylor Swift in the music industry and her fan base can’t wait to see what more she has in store for the music world.
