Hockey Finishes Season in State Semi Final
Ice hockey Beat Riverview Gabriel Richard 4-1 on March 24 to move on to the Division 3 State Semi Finals for the first time since 2016.
After a scoreless first period, Gabriel Richard opened up the scoring to take a 1-0 lead, but the Bulldogs responded with a goal from Devin Mclntyre (‘23) assisted by Tyler Valik (‘21).
Heading into the 3rd period tied, Mclntyre scored his second goal of the night to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead. Valik extended Chelsea’s lead with a goal assisted by Jack Capper (‘21) and Corbin Steele (‘21). Valik then scored again on an open net late in the third period to bring the final score to 4-1
The team faced Calumet on Friday March 25th in Plymouth at the USA Hockey Arena in the semi final game. The Bulldogs put up a good fight but ended up losing to Calumet 3-0. Calumet went on to lose to Cranbrook in their 18th state title winning game 4-1.

Despite losing in the state semifinals, the Bulldogs had a great season finishing as District and Regional Champions with an overall season record of 17-1-2.
“I couldn’t ask for a better group of guys and with the circumstances we had to deal with I couldn’t be any more proud of our team,” Valik said.
