With Zach Bryan being the 92nd most listened to artist on Spotify, his concert prices have begun to rise dramatically. On September 27th Zach Bryan performed at Michigan Stadium. The concert broke records for being the largest ticketed event in history, with each ticket averaging around $275-350. With a venue of 112,000 people, many students from CHS would inevitably be in attendance. Many students from CHS gave insight on the costs of Zach Bryan and the obstacles they faced during said concert.
“I think it was pretty fun, but it was kind of over stimulating with, like, all the people there, but it was pretty fun,” Senior Matt Mattson said.
“It was a great experience. Not only was it a concert, but it was one of the biggest ones, and it was also the first one at the big house. So it was kind of just unreal, because it's not gonna happen again anytime soon, ” Freshman Coralyn Bollinger said.
After experiencing the music and the unforgettable atmosphere of the night, it’s easy to see why students still can’t stop talking about it. Everything from the first to the final song proved that the concert wasn’t just a great experience for students, but one that was absolutely worth every minute and every dollar spent.
“I think it was definitely worth it. It was one of the best things I've ever gone to, especially when he played revival. He played it for 30 minutes, and he had fireworks at the end, and it was so cool. And I feel like he definitely could have played more songs, because I feel like he wasn't out for that long, but it was still really fun overall, “ Bollinger said.
The experience didn’t end when the music stopped: Many students purchased Zach Bryan merch. Students like Mattson and Bollinger both said that even though merch was somewhat expensive, they still think that it was 100% worth it for the experience.
“I did purchase merch. And I'm pretty sure it was around $275 because the sweatshirts were like $130, but the Michigan exclusive one, which was the one I got, was like $125, and the T-shirts were $60, and I also got a t-shirt,” Bollinger said.
As fans compared their new shirts and hoodies, many couldn’t help but think about how much they had spent on the ticket itself, and just like the merch prices, parking for the concert came with its own hefty cost.
“I think we paid around $95 for parking in total, but it was less compared to some people,” Mattson said.
Attending Zach Bryan’s concert at the Big House involved more than just the ticket cost. When you add expenses like premium seating options, food and drinks, parking fees, and official merchandise, the total cost for the full experience quickly adds up, making it quite an investment for fans eager to be part of the event.
“I think the overall cost for Zach Bryan was around $6-700, depending on your seats, how much merch you bought, if you bought concessions, or if you had to pay for parking,” Bollinger said.
While most students thought it was a very enjoyable experience, some students found the concert a little bit overwhelming. Although still having a good time, Mattson found the concert enjoyable, but there were a lot of people packed into one place all at once.
“It was a great experience. Not only was it a concert, but it was one of the biggest ones, and it was also the first one at the big house. So it was kind of just unreal, because it's not gonna happen again anytime soon, ” Freshman Coralyn Bollinger said.
