Future Bulldogs Night is one of Chelsea athletics' most beloved traditions. Many people look forward to this night every year. This year, FBN was held on September 12th, 2025, and was seen as a phenomenal time by many involved. Regarding the celebration of the upcoming Bulldogs, the community demonstrated considerable excitement.
“We have a little cheer program for kids that are in pre-school to 6th grade,” student athlete Gabrielle Ferrell (‘29) said.
The varsity cheer team is an example of the program facilitating special bonds. From the flag and middle school football teams to the little cheer and middle school cheer teams, FBN has always had immense participation from all grade levels.
“It brings younger kids in and gives them a chance to enjoy a sport that they usually aren’t able to at that age,” Ferrell said.
FBN is designed to give younger kids a chance to shine. It encourages participating in recreational sports or activities to prepare for the sports they want to continue to do in high school.
“It gives them a taste of what high school sports will be like for them if they continue them in the future,” Ferrell said.
Little Cheer, in particular, is what a lot of the Chelsea community comes to see. Many parents and families look forward to seeing their child participate in something so unique to Chelsea.
“I think we could add more tumbling for the younger kids,” Ferrell said. “They really enjoy doing that at practice so I think if we were to include more of that, we would have even more participation.”
The Little Cheer program has a unique way to keep the little cheerleaders engaged and actively participating in the sport. Not only do they stay focused and active, but they also get a chance to “get loose” and get the jitters out.
“Typically, we let them participate in a little dance party where we play specific songs like Cupid Shuffle, Ice Cream and Cake, etc.,” Ferrell said. “This dance party helps them bond with the rest of their team.”
The experience is not only for the little athletes, but also for the varsity cheerleaders who take their time that week to coach them up for the halftime show that they perform.
“Little Cheer is such a special experience for not only the little cheerleaders but also for us coaches who coach them throughout the week,” Ferrell said.
