Chocolate+Extravaganza+Taking+Place+This+Weekend

Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate. That’s what you can expect to see at the #shopchelseamich merchants all over downtown Chelsa starting Saturday, February 12, at 10 am for Chelsea’s 13th annual Chocolate Extravaganza.

Still haven’t bought a Valentine’s day gift for that special someone? Don’t panic, this chocolate-filled day is bursting with excitement, sales, and giveaways. And the best news is that from flowers to jewelry, there is something for everyone, within every price range.

Beginning at 11am the Vendor Market opens at Chelsea First United Methodist Church. To see the list of vendors, as well as the complete details of the Chocolate Extravaganza, click here.

Scattered around town, there will be Chocolate maker demonstrations. Not only are they fun and informational, they will have samples to taste and products to purchase!

If you get thirsty, head over to Agricole for hot chocolate samples (while supplies last).

If all that shopping makes you hungry-good news! Tons of restaurants are participating as well! Head over to Chelsea Alehouse for Chocolate Creme Brûlée with raspberries; get something to eat with some free chocolate fudge cookies at Common Grill; a huge, chocolate-filled menu at Zou Zou’s; The Grateful Crow has an exciting, love-filled twist on their fan-favorite Uncle John’s Brownie; and many more restaurants are participating!

As well as catering to the adult crowd, there are also events catered specifically for kids. At 11 am the Penguin Egg Hunt begins. Look for buildings with penguin flyers in the window or door. Inside, kids ages 2-7 can find and open chocolate-filled penguin eggs! There will also be a book signing at Kitty Face by Chelsea’s very own Nicholee Houle. Her children’s book, When Roses Grow on the Moon, is perfect for your little valentine, especially with a personalized message from the author!

There are also drawings around town for tons of giveaways! La Jolla Fine Jewelry has a drawing for a $100 gift certificate, as well as complimentary truffles and a free jewelry cleaning; La Maison has a drawing for a gift box of chocolates from Cherry Republic; a chance to win a gift certificate from The Garden Mill; and 2 drawings for for Jiffy Mixes’ 24 box assortment and a cookbook, and a one night stay at Chelsea Comfort Inn complete with goodies to make the night even more special. Enter for these at Withington’s and the First United Methodist Church.
