A Look at Local Business Agricole

Every day, people from all over flock to Chelsea to visit Agricole, a community grocery store that primarily sells artisan goods from local farmers and small businesses. Agricole is proud to be giving people a chance to share their products with the rest of the people here in Chelsea and allow locals to support our small artisans, farmers, and producers.

“[We] encourage and improve small farm viability, to increase community access to fresh, locally grown food, and to educate the public about local diversified farming as a community resource,” according to their website.

Seventy-five percent of each sale is sent directly back to the farmers and artisans they partner with to complete their goal to transform and support the local food economy. Since September, almost $1,800,000 has been returned to the locals who provide for the store.

“Here at Agricole, there’s a variety of food products and gifts such as carved candles and ceramic bowls made by the locals of Chelsea,” Agricole employee and CHS student Molly Manor (‘22) said. “Everybody that works there has always been really nice, there’s never really a dull moment.”

Agricole is just one small slice of what makes Chelsea’s community so special. They work every day to support local artisans and farmers.
