From a young age, junior Adam Hauser realized he was special with the basketball in his hands. Hauser recalls playing basketball ever since he could walk. Over the years he’s grown to love the game more and more.

“I remember always going up to the gym with a couple friends and just playing for hours,” Hauser said.

Now in high school, Hauser is ready to be a game-changing player on the court this season for the Bulldogs. He has been on the varsity basketball team since his sophomore year. “Being on varsity as a sophomore really helped me get used to the pressure of varsity basketball,” he said.

As a sophomore, Hauser contributed to the team with his scoring bursts and flashy moves to get the crowd on their feet. This year he is prepared to take his play to a new level.

“I’m looking forward to being able to take over games,” Hauser said.

Hauser has been in the gym almost everyday day since the beginning of the school year to get ready for his junior season.

“I’ve done a lot of ball handling and shooting work this fall, I really think it’s going to pay off this year,” Hauser said.

His love for the game is much more than making plays on the court. “I love hanging around all the guys on the team and creating a special bond with them,” he said.

Hauser has been impressing his coaches and teammates on the court as he gets ready for the season.

“He’s really good at creating his own shot and knocking it down,” Coach Josh Tropea said.

Coach Tropea is returning to coach Chelsea after leaving for Spring Arbor University two years ago.

“Adam is one of the reasons I wanted to come back. I really wanted the opportunity to coach him,” Tropea said.

Senior Quinn Starkey also had high praise of Hauser. “He’s worked really hard and we’re all excited to see what he can do this year,” Starkey said.

This season, Hauser looks to be a part of big successes for the basketball team.

“We have big goals this year, we have to bring that district title trophy home,” Hauser said.
